My Story

I'm Virginia, and I would love to explain my philosophy of therapy and what I can offer you.

Firstly, my approach is different from what you might have experienced before. However, before I delve into that, I'd like to discuss my background and philosophy.

Academically, I hold a Master's degree in psychology from the Institute of Social Neurosciences in Melbourne, and I earned my undergraduate Honours degree at Monash University. My Master's thesis focused on the effects of bilateral stimulation, while my Honours thesis explored dopamine's role in computing reward prediction errors and its impact on decision-making.

During my studies, however, I became disillusioned with how psychology theory often emphasises purely academic aspects. The truth is, despite the abundance of academic information, we are still facing a mental health crisis, and the current approach doesn't seem to be improving the situation very much. An example of this is how many of you, have a really good intellectual understanding of your mental health issues, but still haven't made much progress on becoming more mentally healthy?

In response, I became deeply interested in alternative approaches to mental health outside of mainstream scientific methods. My focus shifted towards Eastern philosophies and spirituality, seeking a more holistic understanding of well-being.Today, my practice involves integrating the academic rigor of Western science with the wisdom, intuition, insight, and creativity of the East.

In my practice, we will explore who you are and aspects of yourself you may not yet have encountered. Perhaps you experienced joy, creativity, and expression as a child, but amidst the busyness and expectations of modern life, you may have forgotten how to truly connect with yourself and your passions. We will explore this through bilateral stimulation, inducing meditative states that enhance your intuition, creativity, and ability to take on different perspectives.

We will also address any anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions, aiming to identify their root causes and understand how and why they manifest in your life.
